Job summary
Odili Okechukwu & Co. is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Audit to lead the firm’s audit and assurance practice. The ideal candidate will oversee audit engagements, ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards, manage client relationships, and drive operational excellence across the firm’s assurance services.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise statutory audits, internal audits, forensic reviews, and assurance engagements for clients across various industries.
- Review audit plans, working papers, financial statements, and final reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards and firm policies.
- Provide strategic guidance on audit methodology, risk assessment, internal controls, and financial reporting matters.
- Ensure clients’ compliance with regulatory authorities including FRC, CAMA, NRS, CAC, Pension, ITF, NSITF, and other relevant bodies.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key audit and assurance clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and client retention.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the audit unit.
- Lead audit planning meetings, engagement budgeting, and resource allocation across multiple assignments.
- Manage, mentor, train, and supervise audit associates and managers to improve technical competence and professional development.
- Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and client acquisition efforts.
- Advise clients on internal controls, risk management, corporate governance, and operational improvement strategies.
- Monitor changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards and ensure firm-wide compliance.
Requirements:
- Minimum BSC
- 4 years of experience in a similar role
