About the Job

We are looking for a versatile and innovative Digital Technology & Marketing Systems Specialist to join our growing team in January 2026. This role represents a unique opportunity to be at the intersection of technology, marketing, and customer experience in the dynamic travel industry.

As our Digital Technology & Marketing Systems Specialist, you will be the driving force behind our digital infrastructure, responsible for managing and optimizing all our technology systems that power our business operations. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a multifaceted role that combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving and strategic thinking.

You will serve as the primary architect and guardian of our digital ecosystem, encompassing website management, email marketing automation, customer relationship management (CRM), graphic design, and communication systems. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences and maintain our competitive edge in the travel industry.

This is a hybrid role based in Lagos, Nigeria, offering the flexibility of remote work combined with collaborative in-office days. You will work closely with our travel consultants, marketing team, and senior management to ensure our technology solutions align with business objectives and customer needs.

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about leveraging technology to solve business challenges, stays current with digital trends, and understands how to translate technical capabilities into business value. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and excited about building systems from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

Website & Backend Management

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize the Kharigoo Travels website (kharigoo.com) ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience
  • Implement website updates, new features, and functionality improvements as needed
  • Monitor website analytics, track key performance metrics, and provide regular reports on site performance
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with web developers for complex implementations
  • Ensure website content is current, accurate, and aligned with marketing campaigns
  • Optimize website for search engines (SEO) and mobile responsiveness
  • Manage website hosting, domain configurations, and SSL certificates


Email Optimization & Automation

  • Design, implement, and manage email marketing campaigns using automation platforms
  • Create and optimize email templates for newsletters, promotions, booking confirmations, and customer communications
  • Develop automated email workflows for customer journey mapping (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-trip follow-ups)
  • Segment email lists based on customer behavior, preferences, and booking history
  • Monitor email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and optimize accordingly
  • Ensure email deliverability and compliance with anti-spam regulations
  • A/B test email campaigns to improve engagement and conversion rates


Graphic Design & Visual Content

  • Create compelling visual content for digital marketing campaigns, social media, website banners, and promotional materials
  • Design infographics, brochures, presentations, and marketing collateral
  • Develop consistent brand visuals that align with Kharigoo Travels' identity and messaging
  • Edit and optimize images for web use, ensuring fast loading times and visual appeal
  • Create visual content for tour packages, destination highlights, and special promotions
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to maintain brand consistency across all channels
  • Manage digital asset library and ensure proper organization of design files


CRM Management & Optimization

  • Administer and optimize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track customer interactions and bookings
  • Configure CRM workflows, custom fields, and automation rules to support business processes
  • Ensure data integrity within the CRM through regular data cleaning and validation
  • Train team members on CRM usage and best practices
  • Generate CRM reports and analytics to support business decision-making
  • Integrate CRM with other business systems (website, email marketing, booking platforms)
  • Develop customer segmentation strategies based on CRM data analysis


SMS & Email Broadcasting

  • Manage bulk SMS and email broadcasting systems for promotional campaigns and customer communications
  • Develop and execute targeted broadcasting strategies based on customer segments
  • Create compelling content for SMS campaigns that drive engagement and conversions
  • Monitor broadcasting metrics and optimize delivery times, content, and targeting
  • Manage contact lists and maintain database hygiene
  • Coordinate broadcasting schedules with marketing campaigns and promotional activities


Technical Support & System Integration

  • Provide technical support for internal teams regarding digital tools and systems
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve operational efficiency
  • Integrate various business systems to ensure seamless data flow and operational coherence
  • Monitor system performance and security, implementing updates and patches as needed
  • Develop technical documentation and user guides for internal systems
  • Train staff on new technologies and digital tools
  • Stay current with technology trends and best practices in the travel industry


Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Generate regular reports on digital performance metrics across all platforms
  • Analyze customer behavior data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Track ROI of digital marketing initiatives and provide recommendations for optimization
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate key metrics to stakeholders
  • Support data-driven decision-making across the organization


Required Qualifications and Experience


Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered


Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar role combining IT, digital marketing, and systems management
  • Demonstrated experience managing website backends (WordPress, custom CMS, or similar platforms)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design work for digital marketing campaigns
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, SendGrid, Constant Contact, or similar)
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing CRM systems
  • Experience with SMS broadcasting platforms and bulk communication systems


Technical Skills


  • Website Management: Proficiency in CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla), HTML/CSS basics, web hosting management
  • Email Marketing: Advanced knowledge of email automation platforms, template design, A/B testing, deliverability optimization
  • Graphic Design: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent design tools (Canva Pro, Figma)
  • CRM Systems: Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, or similar)
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, data visualization tools, performance tracking
  • Marketing Automation: Understanding of customer journey automation, lead nurturing, segmentation strategies
  • Basic Programming: Knowledge of HTML, CSS; familiarity with JavaScript and PHP is advantageous
  • Database Management: Understanding of database concepts, data hygiene, list management
  • Integration Tools: Experience with Zapier, API integrations, or similar connectivity tools

  • Background in UX/UI design principles
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM strategies and implementation
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday.com)
  • Familiarity with social media management and advertising platforms
