Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Digital & Media Manager-West Africa (Nigeria & Ghana), located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Digital & Media Manager will be responsible for developing and executing media strategies, managing digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, leading social media initiatives, and optimizing digital media performance to achieve business objectives. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring media trends and performance metrics, and ensuring media planning aligns with overall brand goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in Media Planning and managing Digital Media campaigns
- Expertise in Digital Marketing and developing comprehensive Digital Strategy
- Proficiency in Social Media Marketing across multiple platforms
- Strong analytical skills to measure campaign performance and optimize results
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated understanding of the media landscape in West Africa, particularly Nigeria and Ghana
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- Experience in the FMCG sector or with consumer products is an added advantage
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities
A) Influencer & Social Media Marketing
- Pipeline & selection. Source, vet, and roster influencers/creators per brand need and country. Balance reach, fit, brand safety, and cost.
- Briefing & onboarding. Build tight briefs, assets, and timelines; align deliverables, usage, and rights. Use our approved briefing templates where applicable.
- Content review & approvals. Manage the review cycle with brand, legal, and country teams. Ensure disclosures, claims hygiene, and alignment with local advertising rules.
- Go‑live management. Publish/whitelist as planned; resolve last‑mile issues quickly.
- Paid amplification. Boost creator assets across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc., optimizing for reach, engagement, and view‑through.
- Performance tracking. Maintain a KPI tracker; ensure agency partners share key numbers when content is promoted.
- Contracts & governance. Coordinate SoWs, rate cards, deliverables, and usage rights with Procurement/Legal. Ensure clean reconciliation and audit‑ready trails in line with our Media Services Framework.
B) Media Planning & Deployment
- Agency briefing & planning. Issue clear briefs, objectives, budgets, KPIs, and timelines; consolidate partner plans for Nigeria and Ghana. Draw on prior role guidance for agency briefing, deployment, and reporting.
- Approvals workflow. Run internal approvals for media plans, content, and budgets; track to closure and document decisions.
- POs & finance control. Raise POs on time; ensure IOs/insertions match approved plans; reconcile invoices with zero leakages and on‑time closures.
- Go‑live & QA. Confirm flighting, placements, tags, and brand safety controls; monitor first‑24‑hours pacing and fix issues. Ensure 100% OTIF for all media plans.
- Status & reporting. Drive weekly status reports with agencies; highlight risks, slippages, and decisions required. Past cadence expectations include plan approvals and PO/status follow‑ups in market.
C) Measurement & Optimization
- Build simple scorecards: creator performance, best‑performing content formats, CPM/CPE trends, and country splits.
- Partner with agencies to test formats (short‑form video, live, UGC) and optimize for reach and efficiency.
- Codify learnings into quarterly playbooks for Nigeria & Ghana.
D) Ways of Working & Compliance
- Use approved briefing and campaign templates; maintain audit‑ready documentation and contact reports.
- Uphold media governance: approvals, data privacy, third‑party costs, and audit readiness per Media Services Framework.
- Ensure all creator work meets platform policies and local advertising/consumer‑protection requirements.
Success Metrics (examples)
- Influencer engine: % of briefs on time; creator acceptance rate; content approval cycle time; go‑live OTIF.
- Efficiency: Reach, views, VTR, CPV/CPE, cost per incremental reach; content save/share rates.
- Effectiveness: Impact on brand metrics and sales metrics.
- Media hygiene: PO creation lead time; invoice vs PO match rate; 0 unbilled media; on‑time reconciliations; rebate/credit notes tracked.
- Governance: 100% disclosure compliance; 0 brand‑safety incidents; complete documentation packs.
