The Design Intern will support the design team in the development and execution of fashion collections from concept to sample stage. The role involves assisting with research, sketch development, material sourcing, and sample preparation while gaining hands-on exposure to the fashion design process. Responsibilities:
- Assist the design team in developing concepts and creative ideas for upcoming collections.
- Conduct trend, fabric, and colour research to support the design direction and seasonal planning
- Create and assist with design sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings for new pieces.
- Support the sourcing of fabrics, trims, embellishments, and other design materials from vendors.
- Assist with sample development, fittings, and necessary design adjustments.
- Help maintain and organize the design studio, including the fabric library and sample archive.
- Prepare presentation materials for internal reviews, collection meetings, and creative discussions.
- Support the design team during photoshoots, fittings, fashion presentations, or related events when required.
- Assist with documenting design processes and maintaining design records.
- Carry out administrative tasks related to the design department, including organizing files and coordinating materials.
Requirements:
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related creative field.
- Basic knowledge of fashion illustration, garment construction, and design principles.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design software is an advantage.
- Strong interest in fashion trends, fabrics, and creative design development.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
