Job summary

The Deputy / Senior Deputy Manager – Stores (Finance) will be responsible for end-to-end management of the physical stores operations at Lagos Free Zone, ensuring effective inventory control, process discipline, and safeguarding of materials. The role focuses exclusively on stores operations, including receipt, storage, issuance, stock accuracy.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • day-to-day physical operations of the stores, including receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all inventory movements, including GRNs, issues, returns, and transfers, in line with approved processes.
  • Maintain strict inventory control, ensuring stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and periodic physical stock verification.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for store operations and material handling.
  • Ensure proper segregation, identification, and labelling of materials to prevent loss, damage, or misuse.
  • Coordinate with user departments to ensure timely material availability while maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Investigate and report stock variances, shortages, damages, and obsolete or slow-moving items, and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, safety standards, and company policies within the stores.
  • Support finance and audit teams during internal and external audits, including physical verification and documentation.
  • Supervise and guide store personnel to ensure adherence to procedures, discipline, and safety practices.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for inventory, movements, and approvals, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
  • Identify opportunities to improve store efficiency, layout, and process effectiveness.


Requirements:

  • Minimum BSC
  • 4 years of previous experience in a similar role
