The DPD supports the PD across all workstreams and leads the internal coordination between the design, commercial, and construction functions. Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Director across all project workstreams; deputise fully in their absence
  • Lead the management and coordination of all external consultants, including structural engineer, MEP engineer, planning consultant, quantity surveyor, and specialist consultants; ensure consultants deliver to programme and scope
  • Own the project risk register; identify, assess, and manage project risks proactively; report to the Project Director and client on risk status
  • Lead the coordination between the Design and Architectural Manager and the Construction Manager to ensure design packages are delivered in the sequence required by the construction programme
  • Manage formal communications with all consultants and third parties, including formal letters and contract notices
  • Chair the consultant coordination meeting in the Project Director's absence
  • Support the Project Director in preparation of client reports, presentations, and change order submissions
  • Monitor overall project programme against milestones and escalate emerging delays to the Project Director
  • Manage the statutory approvals programme, coordinating with appointed consultants and tracking submission and decision dates
  • Lead the project close-out process including as-built documentation and project lessons-learned review

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management; postgraduate qualification an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction or real estate development industry, with at least 6 years in a senior project management role
  • Strong experience in Design and Build project delivery in Nigeria
  • Familiarity with Lagos State planning and building control processes
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary design consultant teams
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as NSE, NIOB, NIQS, or NIA is an advantage
