Job Title: Data Entry Clerks Needed at JhPiego
G-ANC/PNC Project in Bauchi State: Improving Maternal and Newborn Health
The G-ANC/PNC project, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, aims to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Bauchi state, Nigeria. This two-year initiative provides technical assistance to strengthen the state's Primary Health Care (PHC) system and increase the utilization of essential services.
Project Goals

• Scale-up Group ANC/PNC (G-ANC/PNC): This model involves group antenatal care and postnatal care sessions, fostering peer support and information sharing among pregnant women and mothers. Bauchi state will lead the expansion of G-ANC/PNC services.
• Improve Service Delivery: The project aims to enhance the quality of services offered at Primary Health Facilities (PHFs) for mothers and newborns.
• Increase Utilization of RMNCAH+N Services: The project focuses on improving the uptake of essential services along the continuum of care, including:
  • RMNCH: Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health
  • N: Nutrition
  • HLLs: High-Impact Lifesaving Interventions
    

Jhpiego's Role
Jhpiego, a global health non-profit organization, provides technical assistance to the Bauchi State Ministry of Health (SMoH) and the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA).
Project Implementation
The project will be implemented in approximately 206 PHFs across Bauchi state.
M&E Specialist Responsibilities
A crucial role in the project is the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist. Their key responsibilities include:

• Data Quality Assurance: Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of client information in service delivery registers maintained by facility staff.
• Data Management and Reporting: Mentoring facility staff on proper data collection and reporting using National Health Management Information System (NHMIS) tools and project-specific forms.
• Data Analysis and Utilization: Supporting facility Quality Improvement (QI) teams in data analysis, validation, and using data for informed decision-making.
• Data Entry and Stock Management: Assisting facilities with data entry into project forms and ensuring adequate stock of data collection tools.
• M&E Issue Resolution: Addressing any data quality or reporting challenges encountered at the facility level.
  

Performance Measurement
The project's success will be measured by:

• Accurate and Timely Data Collection: Complete and correct client information documented in service registers by facility staff.
• Complete and Timely Reporting: Timely submission of project data to designated M&E personnel.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilization of data for quality improvement initiatives within facilities.
  

Required Qualifications For M&E Specialist

• Minimum of a secondary school certificate (SSCE), diploma, or degree.
• Strong understanding of NHMIS data tools and reporting processes.
• Prior experience in data collection, research, or fieldwork (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with data collection software.
• Residency in Bauchi state (advantageous).
• Fluency in English and the local dialect (advantageous).
• Willingness to volunteer with Jhpiego.
  

This project has the potential to significantly improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Bauchi state by strengthening the PHC system, promoting G-ANC/PNC services, and ensuring accurate data collection and utilization.
