Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing data strategies (databases, data collection systems, data analytics, etc.) that provide statistical efficiency
- Interpreting data and analyzing results using statistical techniques
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining database systems
- Identifying and interpreting trends in complex data sets in non-technical terms
- Managing users and user roles
- Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines
- Commissioning and decommissioning data sets
- Managing and designing data report systems to suit the company’s standards
- Filtering and cleaning data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Working closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Creating analytical reports based on project scope
- Monitoring and analysing industry trends
- Training end-users on new reports and dashboards
- Identifying new process improvement opportunities
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Information Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years proven work experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Knowledge of reporting packages like Business Objects, etc., databases (SQL, Oracle, Python, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, R programming, ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
- Technical expertise in data models, database design and development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of data with a high level of detail and accuracy
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving skills
- Accuracy and close attention to detail
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical lay terms
- High level of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled at report writing, queries, and presentations
- Excellent leadership skills

Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSC
- 4 years of previous experience in a similar role
