Responsibilities:
Customs Clearing & Compliance:
- Prepare, review, and process import/export documentation (Bills of Entry, Form M, PAAR, invoices, packing lists, etc.).
- Coordinate customs declaration submissions and ensure accurate tariff classification and duty assessment.
- Ensure full compliance with customs laws, trade regulations, and government agency requirements.
- Liaise with customs authorities and regulatory bodies to resolve clearance issues.
- Monitor and follow up on duty payments and release approvals.
Freight Forwarding Operations:
- Coordinate shipment bookings with shipping lines, airlines, and transport providers.
- Track and monitor cargo movement from origin to final destination.
- Manage import and export documentation including Bills of Lading and Airway Bills.
- Ensure timely cargo delivery and minimize demurrage and storage costs.
- Provide shipment status updates to clients and management.
Bonded Terminal Operations:
- Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of cargo within the bonded terminal.
- Maintain accurate bonded inventory records and ensure compliance with bonded warehouse regulations.
- Coordinate inspections, cargo examinations, and physical verification processes.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization for cargo release from bonded facilities.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Serve as the primary contact between clients, customs officials, shipping companies, and internal departments.
- Resolve operational issues related to delays, documentation discrepancies, or compliance concerns.
- Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain organized records of all shipments and customs transactions.
- Prepare operational and compliance reports for management.
- Ensure accurate filing and audit readiness.
Cost & Risk Management:
- Monitor freight and clearing costs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance, penalties, or cargo delays.
- Advise management on regulatory changes affecting operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Minimum of a BSc.
