Cost Estimator

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Develop bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures.
• Support bid preparation, tender evaluations, and contract pricing.
• Review vendor and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and update project cost estimates as scope changes occur.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
• Identify cost risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Maintain cost databases, historical cost records, and estimation tools.
• Ensure estimates comply with company procedures and project requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–7 years experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of estimating methods, BOQ preparation, and cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimating software.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AACE) is an advantage.
