Job summary
The Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and cost analyses for projects. The role involves evaluating drawings, specifications, materials, labor, and equipment to support bidding, project planning, and cost control activities.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures.
- Support bid preparation, tender evaluations, and contract pricing.
- Review vendor and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and update project cost estimates as scope changes occur.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
- Identify cost risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Maintain cost databases, historical cost records, and estimation tools.
- Ensure estimates comply with company procedures and project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–7 years experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying.
- Strong knowledge of estimating methods, BOQ preparation, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimating software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good communication and reporting abilities.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AACE) is an advantage.
