Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, supervise, and execute civil engineering and construction projects.
• Prepare, review, and interpret engineering drawings, structural designs, technical specifications, and project plans.
• Conduct site inspections, surveys, feasibility assessments, and structural evaluations.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, engineering standards, and building regulations.
• Monitor contractors, subcontractors, technicians, and site personnel to ensure quality workmanship and timely project delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, consultants, and other engineering professionals.
• Review construction materials, structural components, and engineering methods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Prepare project estimates, material specifications, work schedules, and technical reports.
• Monitor project budgets, resource utilization, and construction progress.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, design discrepancies, and construction-related problems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections throughout project execution.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, inspection reports, and engineering documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior engineers and construction personnel.
• Ensure that all engineering activities comply with relevant Nigerian building codes, regulations, and professional standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
• Proven years of relevant experience in civil engineering and construction project execution.
• Proven experience in structural works, building construction, infrastructure development, or related civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, structural principles, engineering standards, and building regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or other relevant engineering design software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Good understanding of project planning, site supervision, quality control, and cost management.
• Knowledge of construction health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple project activities and meet strict deadlines.
• Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or other relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
