Role Description The Content Distribution Manager is a remote, contract role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end digital distribution of music and related content across streaming platforms and online channels. This role includes managing content ingestion, metadata accuracy, release scheduling, and platform delivery to ensure timely and error-free releases. The Content Distribution Manager will coordinate with artists, labels, and internal teams to resolve distribution issues, maintain catalog integrity, and support rights management and content monetization strategies. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring platform performance, optimizing content visibility, handling takedowns and updates, ensuring compliance with platform policies, and preparing reports on distribution status and revenue trends. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve distribution workflows and collaborating on best practices that enhance creator experience and content protection.
Qualifications
- Experience in digital music distribution platforms, catalog management, and content delivery workflows.
- Knowledge of digital rights management, Content ID systems, and intellectual property protection in the music industry.
- Strong skills in data analysis, royalty reporting, and performance tracking using analytics dashboards or reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple releases, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in metadata and documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with artists, labels, and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music) and their content policies.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, content management systems, and basic project management tools.
- Previous experience in music distribution, label operations, or digital media operations is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to transparency and creator-focused solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, global context.
