Role Description

This is a full-time consultancy role for Micro-Catchment Analysis and Community-Based Water & Land Management Planning, located on-site in Bama, Borno State. The consultant will be responsible for conducting field assessments to identify micro-catchments, analyzing water and land use patterns, and developing tailored community-based management plans. Tasks also include engaging with local communities and stakeholders to ensure participatory planning and delivering training sessions to enhance capacity in sustainable water and land management practices. Preparing detailed reports, recommendations, and strategies for implementation will be key responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Micro-Catchment Analysis, Water Resource Management, and Land Use Planning
  • Proficiency in conducting Field Assessments and engaging in Community-Based Participatory Approaches
  • Strong Analytical, Research, and Data Interpretation skills
  • Experience in developing Training Programs and Capacity-Building Activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for delivering reports and engaging with stakeholders
  • Practical knowledge and experience in disaster risk reduction, environmental sustainability, or related fields is a plus
  • A tertiary degree in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Geography, or related areas
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to challenging contexts in on-site locations
