Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Port Harcourt for a Construction Project Manager. The Construction Project Manager will oversee all aspects of construction projects from planning to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Responsibilities include project scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and working closely with stakeholders such as clients, contractors, and team members to meet project specifications and standards. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and personnel on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate site activities and supervise contractors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate updates to management and clients.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are efficiently allocated.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, and change orders.
- Oversee project close‑out, handover, and post‑completion evaluations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Project Coordination, Project Management, and Construction Project Management
- Strong skills in Budgeting and Construction Management
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain timelines
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficient with project management and construction software tools
- Experience in the Nigerian construction or engineering sector is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
