Responsibilities:
- Interpret and review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to guide the project execution.
- Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with technical designs, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
- Monitor site operations, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct site inspections and enforce adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare construction schedules, work breakdown structures, and project budgets.
- Oversee allocation and utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize efficiency.
- Track project costs, identify potential overruns, and implement cost-control measures.
- Manage procurement processes to ensure the timely delivery of resources and materials.
- Ensure all construction work meets industry standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Monitor adherence to local building codes, zoning regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the PMO, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for management and stakeholders.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide timely feedback on project status and risks.
Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve technical issues that arise during construction promptly.
- Support the design and implementation of innovative engineering solutions.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate planning considerations into project designs and timelines.
- Keep updated with industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices in construction and engineering.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across teams to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–9 years of relevant experience in construction engineering or project supervision within the construction or real estate industry.
- Professional certification or membership with relevant engineering bodies (such as COREN or NSE) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, and site supervision.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction projects.
- Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or other relevant tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve technical issues on-site.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with architects, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Remuneration: NGN 850,000 - NGN 1.2 million
