Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport company staff, management, clients, and visitors to designated locations.
- Drive to project sites, meetings, inspections, and other official assignments as directed.
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off while planning efficient travel routes.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness of assigned vehicles at all times.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checking fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires, battery, and lights.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, or maintenance needs promptly to management.
- Ensure routine servicing and preventive maintenance of company vehicles.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure vehicle documents (insurance, license, registration, roadworthiness certificate, etc.) remain valid and up to date.
- Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Assist in transporting company equipment, documents, and materials when required.
- Support logistics activities during company events, inspections, or business operations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company information and discussions.
- Monitor fuel usage and prevent misuse of company vehicles.
- Ensure the security of the vehicle and company property while on duty.
- Perform other duties assigned by management that relate to transportation and logistics.
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification.
- Additional vocational training or certifications in driving or vehicle maintenance is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of proven experience as a professional driver in a corporate organization.
- Experience driving executives or company personnel is an advantage.
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License.
- Good knowledge of road networks and traffic regulations.
- Clean driving record with no history of reckless driving.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Physically fit and able to work flexible hours, including weekends when necessary.
- Excellent driving and defensive driving skills.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
