Responsibilities:

Checking care labels to determine the correct cleaning method (wash, dry clean, or delicate).
Inspecting garments for pre-existing damage-like tears, open seams, or missing buttons.
Emptying pockets to remove foreign objects like pens, coins, or tissues that could damage clothes or machines.
Identifying and flagging stains that require specialized pre-treatment.
Separating clothes by color (whites, lights, darks) to prevent dye bleeding.
Sorting by fabric weight and type (heavy denims and towels vs. delicate silks and synthetics)
Grouping by soil level to prevent heavily stained items from contaminating lightly soiled clothes.
Weighing laundry loads to ensure industrial washing machines are perfectly loaded.
Tagging and tracking items using barcodes, pins, or labels to keep customer orders together.
Staging sorted bins and prioritizing express or same-day orders for the washing team.
Maintaining a clean sorting area to prevent dirty incoming laundry from mixing with clean items.
Following safety protocols when handling heavily soiled or hazardous linens.
