Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Support the development of civil and structural engineering deliverables during Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform civil and structural analysis and design for offshore and onshore facilities, including platforms, jackets, topsides, pipe racks, equipment foundations, buildings, control rooms, substations, and utility structures, and Storage tank foundations, vessel foundations, flare structures, and other structural support systems.
• Develop and assist with structural design criteria, design philosophies, Basis of Design documents, and technical specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses for dead, live, wind, seismic, wave, current, blast, and operational loads.
• Assist in the design of foundation systems, including shallow, piled, and special foundations.
• Review geotechnical reports and establish appropriate foundation design requirements.
• Support structural integrity assessments and fitness-for-service evaluations where required.

Project Development Activities:

• Participate in conceptual studies and feasibility assessments.
• Develop civil and structural concepts and evaluate alternative solutions based on safety, constructability, operability, and cost.
• Support plot plan development and facility layout optimisation.
• Provide technical input to CAPEX estimates and project execution strategies during early project phases.

FEED & Detailed Engineering:

• Prepare and review: Structural General Arrangement Drawings, Structural steel details, Foundation layouts and details, Design calculations, Material Take-Offs (MTOs), Scope of Work documents, Technical requisitions and datasheets.
• Coordinate civil and structural interfaces with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and HSE disciplines.
• Ensure assigned engineering deliverables meet project quality, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and constructability reviews.

Technical & Project Support:

• Provide technical support to project teams and senior engineers.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and engineering challenges.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders as required.
• Support multidisciplinary EPC/EPCIC project activities and ensure effective communication across disciplines.

Compliance & Quality:

• Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable international codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Support the implementation of the company's Quality Management System requirements.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with project HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• A Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Registered Engineer with relevant professional bodies (COREN, NSE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience in Conceptual, FEED, and/or Detailed Engineering Design projects.
• Experience with greenfield and/or brownfield developments is an advantage.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: STAAD.Pro, STAAD Foundation Advanced, AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good report writing and technical documentation abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Experience working in EPC/EPCIC project environments is an advantage.
