Civil Engineer
Job summary
You will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, drainage systems, bridges, and other infrastructure. The role involves ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with approved design.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee the construction and maintenance of civil engineering projects.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Conduct site inspections, surveys, measurements, and assessments to determine project requirements.
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, site workers, and other project personnel to ensure work is carried out according to approved plans.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, quality requirements, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Review construction materials and workmanship to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
- Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions during construction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Must have relevant professional experience in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering principles, building codes, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering/design software.
- Knowledge of project management, quantity estimation, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and effectively supervise construction activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Must be willing to work on construction sites and travel when required.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized engineering body is an added advantage.
