Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for the housing project.
• Interpret and implement existing building plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Plan and coordinate material procurement, labor, and equipment for efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress, quality, and safety, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Manage project funds, ensuring work is completed within the allocated budget.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, including milestones achieved and challenges encountered.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant authorities for permits and approvals.
• Ensure timely completion and handover of housing units as per contract terms.
• Handle any variations, delays, or issues with appropriate solutions and communication.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all project activities. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (a master’s degree is an advantage).
• Professional registration (COREN, NSE, or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-NYSC experience in building construction and project delivery.
• Experience with residential building projects and unit-based delivery models is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of building construction processes, materials, and standards.
• Proven ability to manage construction projects from start to finish.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
• Excellent site management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Strong financial awareness and ability to work within fixed project costs.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
