Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chinese-to-English translator to accurately translate written and spoken content from Chinese into English. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of both languages, a deep understanding of cultural nuances, and the ability to convey meaning, tone, and context effectively.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Translate documents, articles, reports, and multimedia content from Chinese to English
Ensure translations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and consistent with the intended tone
Proofread and edit translations for grammar clarity and style
Collaborate with team members and clients to clarify meaning and terminology
Use translation tools and software to maintain consistency and efficiency
Research to understand industry-specific terminology and context
Collaborate with production managers to ensure accurate translation of technical terms, industry-specific vocabulary, and context-sensitive content, aligning with industry standards and client preferences.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chinese translator
BSc. Degree in Chinese Language
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and native-level proficiency in English
Proven experience as a translator or interpreter, ideally in a professional setting
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English
Familiarity with translation software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast) is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Bachelor's degree in Translation Linguistics, Languages, or a related field preferred
