Job Summary
Our client is a fast-growing insurance company committed to improving lives and transforming Africa. with a specialty in non-life insurance, providing simple and accessible protection for vehicles, homes, businesses and more. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as the Chief Digital Officer.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Vision and Strategy:
- Setting a vision for the deployment and usage of technology by the company.
- Ensuring that technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
- Discovering and implementing new technologies that yield competitive advantage.
- Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
- Helping the business use technology profitably.
- Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
Leadership and Decision Making:
- Making executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements.
- Acting as a mentor to team members.
- Drive digital innovation and serve as a change agent throughout the organization.
- Be an evangelist, championing the use of digital technology and practices to engender a digital mindset from the top down.
Performance Monitoring and Compliance:
- Monitoring KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance.
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Measure ROI for digital projects, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure that we’re investing in the appropriate tools and resources.
- Ensuring adherence to strong I.T governance framework to protect the business.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Ensure collaboration, knowledge sharing, and digital best practices among partners and colleagues to help establish a robust digital ecosystem.
- Communicating technology strategy to partners and investors.
- Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and delivering IT projects to market.
- Using stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.
Security and Infrastructure:
- Ensuring the business is well protected against cybersecurity attacks.
- Supervising system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Building quality assurance and data protection processes.
Competencies

- Knowledge of the Insurance industry, IT Infrastructure & Security.
- Knowledge of solutions/enterprise architecture, Data & Risk Management.
- Knowledge of Business Strategy & IT Project Management.

Educational/Experience Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (MBA or other relevant post-graduate degrees will be an added advantage).
- Proven experience as a CDO or similar leadership role.
- 10 Years cognate experience (with at least 5 years in a Managerial role).
