Chief Finance Officer
Job summary
We are looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer (NTA ROAD) who will provide strategic and operational financial leadership across all businesses under Ewokor Group. This role is responsible for group-wide financial management, profitability, internal controls, and tax compliance, ensuring that each business unit operates efficiently and sustainably. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong financial discipline, deep understanding of Nigerian regulatory requirements, and the ability to support business growth with accurate financial insight.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee and manage the accounts of all Ewokor Group businesses
- Prepare and consolidate accurate, transparent, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Provide management with clear financial insights to support decision-making
Budgeting, Forecasting & Profitability:
- Develop group-wide budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Track performance against budget and recommend corrective actions
- Drive profitability and margin improvement across business units
- Build financial models to project revenue, expenses, and break-even points for new operational phases.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage daily cash flow, working capital, and CAPEX requirements to ensure the businesses never run out of operating cash.
- Oversee receivables, payables, and expense approvals
- Scrutinize operating expenses (energy, logistics, packaging) and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Establish rigid cash reconciliation processes for point-of-sale terminals, ensuring every naira collected is banked or accounted for.
Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Design, implement, and enforce strong internal control systems
- Prevent fraud, revenue leakage, and financial inefficiencies
- Oversee internal audits and financial reviews
- Ensure compliance with approved financial policies and procedures
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax and statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Company Income Tax, FIRS & State IRS)
- Oversee timely filing and remittance of taxes and be penalty-free
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
Strategic & Board Support:
- Work with the Head of Procurement to audit supplier prices regularly, ensuring we are getting the best market rates.
- Lead and structure the Group Finance & Accounts function & Build a finance team capable of supporting growth and scale
- Provide financial input for new ventures, investments, and expansion
- Prepare board-level financial reports and presentations
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and strategic initiatives
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA)—highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years relevant finance experience
- Prior experience managing multiple business entities or group structures
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory environment
- Experience in retail, FMCG, hospitality, logistics, or operations-driven businesses is an advantage
