Chartared Accountant
Job summary
We are seeking a highly experienced, analytical, and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our real estate business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, cash flow management, project accounting, statutory compliance, and financial planning.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's day-to-day financial and accounting operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset records.
- Oversee cash flow management and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
- Maintain accurate financial records for property acquisitions, developments, sales, leasing, and facility management.
- Track project costs, construction expenses, and development budgets.
- Prepare profitability analyses for real estate projects and investment portfolios.
- Reconcile property sales, rental income, service charges, and other real estate-related transactions.
- Monitor escrow accounts, deposits, and customer payment schedules where applicable.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Conduct financial analysis to support investment decisions and business expansion.
- Provide management with financial reports and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, Company Income Tax (CIT), and other statutory obligations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, banks, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Monitor compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Safeguard company assets through effective financial management practices.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales, legal, and operations teams to support business objectives.
- Present financial reports and recommendations to executive management.
- Support strategic planning and investment evaluations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant is mandatory.
- Proven years of post-qualification accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho Books, or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
