Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer payments using cash, POS, transfer, or other approved payment methods.
- Accurately record all sales transactions and issue receipts to customers.
- Balance cash and POS transactions at the end of each shift.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cashier area.
- Attend to customers politely and professionally at all times.
- Respond to customer inquiries and direct complaints to the appropriate supervisor when necessary.
- Ensure proper accountability of cash and company property.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or suspicious activities immediately.
- Assist with stock taking and inventory monitoring when required.
- Promote company products and ongoing sales offers to customers.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND/BSc qualification.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong numerical and record-keeping ability.
- Honest, reliable, and customer-focused.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- May require weekend or shift work.
