Job summary

We are seeking a Carer (Filipino) to provide compassionate and high-quality personal care and support to elderly or vulnerable adults in their own homes or in supported living environments. The Carer ensures clients maintain independence, safety, dignity, and quality of life while adhering to strict health, safety, and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal hygiene
  • Support safe mobility if needed
  • Administer medication as prescribed and record administration accurately.
  • Monitor and report changes in client’s physical or mental health
  • Manage waste disposal of medication and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic living environment.
  • Run errands (e.g., pharmacy) as required.
  • Support mental well-being: observe signs of depression, anxiety, loneliness, or cognitive decline.
  • Encourage social interaction: accompany appointments, family visits, religious services, or community outings.
  • Respect client’s cultural, religious, and personal preferences
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols (hand hygiene, PPE use, waste disposal).
  • Conduct risk assessments in the home environment (e.g., trip hazards, fire
    safety).
  • Maintain accurate daily care notes, medication charts, and handover records.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients, families, and company
    information.
  • Wear uniform and maintain personal hygiene standards.
  • Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, care coordinators and office staff.
  • Provide clear handovers to relief carers or night staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other care team members, nurses, physiotherapists, or doctors.


Requirements:

  • 2–6 years’ experience in caregiving, elderly care, or similar role (live-in experience highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physically fit – able to lift, support, and assist with mobility
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours (including nights, weekends, public holidays)
  • Strong observation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Basic literacy and numeracy (for record-keeping and medication)
  • Honest, trustworthy, and discreet
  • Emotionally resilient with good stress management
  • Respectful of cultural, religious, and personal differences
  • Committed to safeguarding and client dignity
