Technical Underwriter

Responsibilities:

• Operational Strategy: Design and execute frameworks that drive innovation and efficiency in how we deliver technical insurance broking services to our diverse client base.
  
• Portfolio Administration: Lead the end-to-end process for policy assessment, issuance, and renewals with 100% accuracy.
  
• Technical Collaboration: Work across departments to synchronize policy administration, underwriting, and compliance with the firm’s broader commercial goals.
  
• Claims & Risk Intelligence: Oversee claims processing and detailed risk assessments, identifying areas for process improvement and regulatory alignment.
  
• Reporting & Optimization: Provide data-driven reports to senior leadership, offering strategic suggestions to enhance our technical competitive advantage.
  
• Compliance Stewardship: Ensure all technical operations strictly adhere to Nigerian regulatory requirements and international best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a distinct advantage.
  
• Professional Certification: Mandatory professional certification in insurance (e.g., CIIN or equivalent).
  
• Industry Mastery: At least 5 years of experience in insurance operations, with a strong preference for candidates from a broking background.
  
• Leadership Stature: Proven experience in supervising teams and driving operational turnarounds.
  
• Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of risk management, brokerage software, and the latest automation tools in the insurance sector.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
