Business Development Specialist
Job summary
Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new client and market opportunities, developing client relationships, and supporting proposals, pitches and business development initiatives. Build market intelligence and work with service teams to convert opportunities into sustainable client engagements.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Firm’s service lines and target markets.
- Research and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, target organisations, industries and business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective, existing and strategic clients to identify their business needs and opportunities for the Firm.
- Work with technical teams to identify opportunities for cross-selling and expanding services to existing clients.
- Monitor market developments, industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a structured business development pipeline, tracking prospects, opportunities, proposals, follow-ups and outcomes.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, expressions of interest, capability statements, tenders and pitch documents.
- Coordinate responses to requests for proposals, quotations and other business opportunities, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- Organize and support client meetings, presentations, pitches and other business development engagements.
- Prepare client and prospect profiles, company intelligence and meeting briefs to support business development discussions.
- Follow up on proposals, pitches and prospective engagements and maintain appropriate records of outcomes.
- Support Partners and service teams in developing client-specific solutions and value propositions.
- Identify networking, partnership, referral and strategic collaboration opportunities that can generate business for the Firm.
- Support the planning and execution of client events, seminars, webinars and other business development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of client and prospect information, business development activities and engagement outcomes.
- Track business development performance, including leads generated, opportunities pursued, proposals submitted, conversion rates and revenue generated.
- Prepare periodic business development reports and provide insights and recommendations to Management.
- Collaborate with the R&D and Marketing functions to leverage market research, content, campaigns and industry insights for business development.
- Ensure that all business development materials and communications are professional, accurate and aligned with the Firm’s brand and service offerings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mass Communication or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance or a related field is an advantage.
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, client relationship management, professional services or a related role.
- Experience in an accounting, audit, tax, consulting or other professional services firm is an advantage.
- Proven experience in proposal development, client acquisition or relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
