Business Development Officer
Job summary
We are looking for a Business Development Officer who will be responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring customers/merchants, increasing product adoption, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role requires strong sales acumen, market intelligence, and the ability to meet performance targets in a competitive environment.

Responsibilities:
Deposit Mobilization:
- Actively source and mobilize deposits from individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients.
- Develop strategies to attract and retain savings and fixed deposit accounts.
- Maintain strong relationships with depositors to ensure portfolio stability.
- Monitor and grow deposit volumes in line with assigned targets.
Merchant & Client Acquisition:
- Prospect and engage SMEs, corporate clients, and retail customers.
- Conduct field visits and presentations to potential clients.
- Onboard merchants for POS/digital payment solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance during onboarding.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Address customer concerns promptly and ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Cross-sell and upsell relevant banking products.
- Monitor client activity to drive increased engagement and retention.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track daily sales activities and pipeline performance.
- Provide weekly and monthly business development reports.
- Monitor transfer volume, transfer value, and deposit growth metrics.
Market Intelligence:
- Gather competitor insights and market trends.
- Provide feedback on product development and customer preferences.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to Rex Mfb lending policies and procedures.
- Support fraud prevention by verifying client information and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect client data.
Collaboration & Team Support:
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align strategies and enhance client solutions.
- Mentor and support junior sales team members where applicable.
- Share best practices and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum BSC
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
