Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, converting leads into briefs, building strategic partnerships, and managing client relationships. This role combines sales, marketing coordination, networking, and relationship management within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
• Identify, pursue, and secure new legal briefs and retainerships for the firm.
• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the firm’s practice areas.
• Pitch legal services to SMEs, corporate clients, property developers, NGOs, and institutions.
• Follow up on inquiries from social media, email, website, and referrals.
• Convert leads into paid consultations and ongoing engagements.
Client & Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Manage a client and lead database, ensuring timely follow-ups.
• Reactivate past clients and explore opportunities for repeat briefs.
• Serve as a professional liaison between clients and the firm.
Marketing & Visibility Support
• Work with content creators or marketers to align social media content with business goals.
• Monitor inquiries generated from online platforms and ensure prompt response.
• Represent Headfort Chambers at networking events, business forums, and industry meetings.
• Support webinars, legal clinics, and outreach initiatives aimed at client acquisition.
Partnerships & Growth
• Develop strategic partnerships with accountants, real estate firms, HR consultants, and other service providers.
• Identify institutional and organizational opportunities for long-term legal support.
• Assist in preparing proposals, pitch decks, and firm profiles for prospective clients.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
• Track leads, briefs secured, retainerships, and revenue generated.
• Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to management.
• Recommend improvements to business development processes.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or marketing within professional services (law firm, consulting firm, accounting firm preferred).
• Strong understanding of relationship-based selling.
• Experience engaging SMEs, corporate clients, or institutions.
• Knowledge of the legal industry is an advantage but not mandatory.
