Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with both local and international clients.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, converting leads into long-term, profitable partnerships.
- Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach and pitching to negotiation and closing high-value contracts.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a talented business development team from the ground up.
- Set clear KPIs, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Equip the team with the tools, training, and strategies needed to succeed.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to uncover untapped opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Use your expertise to help reposition our brand, refine our service offerings, and enhance our competitive edge.
- Play a key role in the strategic decision-making process to ensure the business is poised for rapid and sustainable growth.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and C-level executives.
- Ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for account growth and cross-selling.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of proven business development/sales experience, with at least 3 years within an advertising agency or a closely related marketing firm.
- A demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding significant revenue targets and successfully leading a business development team.
- Deep understanding of the advertising landscape, including digital marketing, media buying, creative services, and brand strategy.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold a team accountable.
- A strategic "hunter" mentality with outstanding negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- A strong network of contacts within the Lagos and Nigerian business community is a significant advantage.
