Role Description The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and supporting the growth of the consultancy’s portfolio. This contract role involves prospecting potential clients, preparing and delivering proposals, coordinating pitch presentations, and negotiating contract terms in alignment with company standards. The position includes close collaboration with internal teams to refine service offerings, develop go-to-market strategies, and ensure a strong pipeline of qualified leads. The role is hybrid, based in Lagos with some work-from-home flexibility, requiring regular in-person meetings with clients and stakeholders as well as remote planning and follow-up activities.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in business development, client acquisition, and relationship management within consulting, marketing, or related professional services.
- Strong skills in sales strategy, lead generation, pipeline management, and deal negotiation.
- Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and identifying emerging opportunities in target sectors.
- Competence in presentation, proposal writing, and communicating value propositions to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Self-directed work style with strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and basic proficiency in Google productivity software (e.g., spreadsheets, documents, presentation tools).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Experience working in or with Lagos-based or African markets is highly beneficial.
