Business Development Executive
Job summary
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market penetration, and strategic partnerships for the company within the Nigerian oil & gas, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. The role goes beyond lead generation. It requires a commercially astute professional who understands how business is actually won in Nigeria’s oil & gas ecosystem through relationships, technical credibility, regulatory awareness, and disciplined follow-through from opportunity identification to contract award.

Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, project pipelines, tenders, and upcoming developments.
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company’s service offerings and OEM partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and technical stakeholders.
- Act as the primary commercial interface between our company and prospective or existing clients.
- Conduct client meetings, technical-commercial presentations, and capability briefings.
- Ensure consistent follow-up and relationship nurturing beyond immediate transactions.
- Coordinate preparation of: Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Prequalification submissions and Technical and commercial proposals
- Work closely with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to develop competitive, compliant bids.
- Track tenders and opportunities from initiation through award and post-award handover.
- Identify and develop strategic alliances with: OEMs, international manufacturers, local technical partners and service providers
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
- Prepare regular business development reports, sales forecasts, and pipeline updates for management.
- Ensure compliance with internal approval processes, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or additional certifications in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of the oil and gas market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills and the ability to solve problems creatively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
