Job summary
The Accounting Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting the company’s financial reporting processes. The role involves managing payables and receivables, payroll, reconciling financial accounts, monitoring inventory records, and assisting with budgeting and cost analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, and general ledger balances
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory obligations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, etc.).
- Assist in budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.
- Monitor inventory records and support stock audits.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
- Provide management with accurate financial insights for decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification or progress toward certification (ICAN or ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems).
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
