Site Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Supervise construction of new warehouses (foundations, blockwork, steel and roofing, floors and finishes) and the completion of unfinished buildings
• Read and work from architectural and structural drawings. Set out works accurately
• Plan and supervise daily work for artisans, labourers and subcontractors (masons, iron benders, carpenters, welders, roofers, tilers, painters)
• Estimate material quantities (bill of quantities) and raise material requests in good time
• Inspect materials on arrival before use, and reject anything substandard
• Enforce quality: concrete mixes, curing, levels, plumb, alignment and finishing standards
• Enforce site health and safety and good housekeeping
• Keep a daily site diary and send weekly progress reports with photos
• Measure completed work to support contractor payments. Work with the project accountant to make sure only completed work is paid for
• Liaise with the project engineer on design questions and variations

Requirements:

• HND in Building Technology, Civil Engineering or a related field. Strong trade certification with an outstanding track record will also be considered
• 5 years of experience on construction sites, including industrial or warehouse buildings.
• Proven experience managing artisans and subcontractors
• Good knowledge of materials, costing and quantities
• CORBON/NIOB registration is an advantage
• Willing to resume daily at Ibeju-Lekki
