Barman
Job summary
We are seeking a courteous, enthusiastic, and experienced Barman to join the hospitality team at our client hotel in Edo State. The Barman will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests, and maintaining high service standards in the bar area.

Responsibilities:
Drink Preparation & Service:
- Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
- Maintain product knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Engage guests warmly and ensure prompt and friendly service.
Bar Hygiene & Safety:
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including counters, shelves, and equipment.
- Comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards for drink preparation and serving.
- Ensure all glassware, tools, and equipment are sanitised and stored properly.
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Monitor bar stock levels and inform the supervisor of reordering needs.
- Assist with receiving and organising bar supplies.
- Prevent wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
Customer Engagement & Atmosphere:
- Create a welcoming, relaxed, and entertaining bar environment.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns with professionalism.
- Encourage repeat business through excellent service and positive guest interaction.
Requirements:
- SSCE/OND in Hospitality Management or related field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Barman in a hotel, lounge, or hospitality setting.
- Good knowledge of popular cocktails, spirits, and serving techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy hours.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Customer Service: Warm, approachable, and guest-focused attitude.
- Mixology: Confident in preparing and serving a variety of drinks.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures consistency in drink quality and presentation.
- Cleanliness: Maintains a spotless and organised work area.
- Energy & Stamina: Able to stay alert and energetic during long shifts.
- Team Player: Works cooperatively with kitchen and service staff.
