Job summary

The audit trainee will support the audit & assurance team in executing audit engagements by assisting with audit planning, fieldwork, documentation, and reporting. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to audit processes while developing technical accounting, analytical, and professional skills in line with applicable auditing standards.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing audit engagements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
  • Perform audit fieldwork, including vouching, verification, and reconciliation of financial records.
  • Assist in reviewing internal controls and identifying control weaknesses.
  • Prepare audit working papers and documentation under supervision.
  • Support the audit team in drafting audit findings and management letters.
  • Participate in stock counts and other verification exercises when required.
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements for accuracy and compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.
  • Support tax, accounting, and compliance assignments as assigned.
  • Ensure proper filing and organisation of audit documentation.
  • Stay up to date with accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in internal training, workshops, and professional development activities.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • NYSC completion or exemption certificate.
  • Partly qualified or registered with ICAN/ACCA
  • Prior internship or industrial training experience in an audit firm is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and auditing concepts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.

Remuneration: 2,500,000 - 3,500,000 Gross Annual

Location: Ikoyi
