Associate Lawyer

Responsibilities:

• Legal Research and Analysis: Investigating case law, statutes, and legal precedents to build strong, fact-based arguments for senior attorneys.
• Document Drafting: Preparing contracts, legal notices, briefs, witness statements, and court filings.
• Case Management: Tracking court deadlines, organizing evidence, and coordinating the flow of files between the firm, clients, and the courts.
• Client Interaction: Conducting initial consultations, gathering case details, providing updates, and fielding inquiries.
• Court Appearances: Representing clients in lower-court proceedings, administrative hearings, or assisting partners during high-profile trials.
• Discovery Process: Managing evidence-gathering through methods like depositions, interrogatories, and document reviews.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (LL.B.) in Law from a recognized institution.

• Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant post-call legal experience (or as required by the employer).

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws, legal procedures, and court processes.

• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.

• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.

• Ability to represent clients in court and before regulatory authorities.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
