Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory & Representation:

  • Provide legal advice and opinions to clients on a broad range of legal matters.
  • Represent clients in courts, tribunals, arbitration proceedings, and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Prepare and present cases effectively before courts and regulatory bodies.
  • Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and negotiations.


Legal Research & Drafting:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare well-reasoned legal opinions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare court processes, briefs, and other litigation-related documentation.
  • Ensure all legal documents comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and provide exceptional client service.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide strategic legal guidance.
  • Manage client matters efficiently while ensuring timely communication and updates.


Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards.


Business Development:

  • Support the firm’s business development initiatives.
  • Participate in networking events, seminars, and industry engagements to promote the firm’s services.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including articles, publications, and presentations.


Requirements:

  • LL.B and B.L qualifications from accredited institutions.
  • Valid Nigerian Bar practising licence.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-call experience in litigation and/or corporate commercial practice.
  • Proven experience handling complex legal matters independently.
  • Excellent advocacy and courtroom skills.
  • Strong legal drafting and research abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian laws and court procedures.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
