Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate Counsel, based at the O&O office in Lekki, Lagos. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, providing legal opinions, managing litigation files, conducting legal research, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. The Associate Counsel may also represent clients in court, participate in negotiations, and contribute to the development of legal strategies and solutions in various practice areas.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in legal drafting, contract review, and legal research
- 3 to 5 years legal experience
- Experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and advocacy
- Understanding of corporate law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of emerging areas such as Financial Technology (FinTech) and IT law is a plus
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple cases
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association; additional certifications are a plus
- Proven experience in client relationship management and upholding confidentiality
