Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and dependable Associate Counsel to join the Firm on an initial one-month contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and the operational needs of the Firm.

This is a hybrid role, involving remote work and scheduled physical attendance for client meetings, regulatory engagements and other assignments within Lagos.

Working closely with the Principal Counsel, the successful candidate will support the Firm across a broad range of corporate, commercial, property and private client matters. Responsibilities include legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal due diligence, assisting with corporate transactions and regulatory filings, supporting company secretarial matters, attending client meetings, preparing legal opinions and reports, and carrying out other legal assignments as may reasonably be required.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for practical exposure to diverse areas of legal practice within a growing corporate and commercial law firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified Legal Practitioner called to the Nigerian Bar.
• Early-career lawyers are encouraged to apply.
• Resident on the mainland in Lagos State.
• Excellent legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound professional judgment.
• Willingness to travel within Lagos for official assignments.
• Previous experience in a law firm will be an added advantage.

Working Arrangement

• Hybrid (Remote with scheduled physical attendance as required).
• Initial one-month contract, renewable based on performance and the operational needs of the Firm.
