Associate Counsel
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Associate with 4-5 years post-call experience to join our team in Ikeja, Lagos. The ideal candidate is one with a demonstrable grasp of dispute resolution through courts and ADR. They must be commercially aware and able to embrace or deploy digital tools productively.

Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, mediation, and negotiation proceedings.
- Handles corporate-commercial transactions and client advisory.
- Engage with regulatory authorities on policy and establish the capacity of the Firm as a key policy development partner to the government.
- Advising on all aspects of clients’ transactions and use of efficient corporate structures for business deals.
- Grow and manage the client's portfolio as regards legal advisory on their corporate-commercial transactions, and offer secretarial service to ensure they are regulatory compliant.
- Analyse, report & manage legal risks on the client's behalf in transactions including (but not limited to) Intellectual Property and Fintech-related agreements, Corporate-Commercial Transactions, Real-Estate, Wills, Family and Matrimonial Disputes, Maritime and Aviation transactions
- Develop expertise in relevant legal regimes, including data privacy laws, Arbitration and Mediation, Maritime, and intellectual property Laws, to facilitate regulatory compliance on the client's behalf.
- Leverage digital tools for document management, case tracking, and communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- A law degree—2nd class upper or lower
- 4-5 years post-call and verifiable experience in dispute resolution (Courts, arbitration, mediation) and commercial matters
- ICSAN membership will be added advantage
- Tech savvy—comfortable using legal tech tools, online research platforms, and collaborative software
- Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills with evidence of published articles or writings
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Resides in Lagos Mainland, preferably Ikeja.
