Assistant Store Keeper
Job summary
The Assistant Store Keeper supports the efficient management of the company's inventory by receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and recording raw materials, production consumables, hardware, finished goods, and spare parts. The role ensures inventory accuracy, proper storage practices, and timely material availability to support operations.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming materials, ensuring they meet quantity and quality specifications.
- Store materials appropriately to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
- Issue raw materials, fittings, consumables, and tools to the production team based on approved requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems and manual registers where applicable.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and support periodic inventory audits.
- Monitor stock levels and promptly report low-stock or overstock situations.
- Label and organize inventory for easy identification and retrieval.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other inventory control procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
- Assist in preparing inventory reports, stock reconciliation reports, and documentation.
- Support the Storekeeper during internal and external audits.
- Safeguard company inventory against theft, damage, and unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a furniture, wood processing, or manufacturing company is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and stock control procedures.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and material handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using inventory or ERP software (e.g., Odoo, Sage, SAP, or similar) is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare stock reports and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Knowledge of FIFO, stock reconciliation, and inventory auditing.
