Job Summary
The Assistant Logistics Officer oversees the end-to-end movement of goods, including procurement follow-ups, expediting, vendor management, warehousing, transportation, and import/export documentation. The role ensures all materials are delivered on time, in full, and in compliance with local and international regulations.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Expediting & Order Tracking:
- Maintain and update expediting sheets for all purchase orders, tracking order status from confirmation to delivery.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely production, packaging, and shipment.
- Escalate delays and recommend recovery plans to avoid disruptions.
- Coordinate with procurement to adjust delivery schedules where necessary.
- Liaise with customs agents, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies.
- Track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring clearance and delivery within agreed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian customs regulations and international shipping standards.
- Manage relationships with logistics service providers (freight forwarders, clearing agents, transporters, warehousing partners). \
- Evaluate and monitor vendor performance using KPIs such as delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Source new logistics vendors and negotiate competitive rates for transportation, customs clearing, and warehousing.
- Resolve vendor disputes and ensure adherence to contractual terms.
Transportation & Distribution:
- Schedule and coordinate deliveries to customers, project sites, or branches.
- Monitor vehicle movement via trackers to ensure security and timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, including shipment trackers, vendor databases, and cost logs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly logistics performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND/BSc in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, import/export, or supply chain operations.
- Experience working with clearing agents, freight forwarders, and international suppliers.
- Strong understanding of import/export procedures and Nigerian customs processes.
- Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in expediting sheets, shipment trackers, and MS Excel.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of shipping terms (INCOTERMS 2020) (an advantage).
Renumeration: NGN 200,000 Monthly.
