Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Operational Support & Speed Maintenance:

  • Work directly on the line during rush periods (grilling, frying, assembling, expediting).
  • Assist with kitchen setup (mise en place) and breakdown.
  • Monitor food levels and coordinate with prep staff to prevent shortages.


Quality & Standards Enforcement:

  • Conduct spot checks on portion sizes, food temperatures, and presentation.
  • Report quality deviations promptly.
  • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP).


Team Support & Training:

  • Assist in training new kitchen staff.
  • Motivate the team during busy periods.
  • Resolve minor operational issues on the line.


Inventory & Waste Control:

  • Assist with daily counts and FIFO stock rotation.
  • Monitor and record food waste.
  • Ensure proper food storage.


Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce hygiene, uniform, and handwashing standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Report equipment or safety issues promptly.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Prior team lead or senior cook experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in high-volume cooking.
  • Basic understanding of food cost and waste control.
  • Food Safety certification or willingness to obtain one within 3 months.
  • High stamina and resilience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive, observant, and reliable.
  • Team player with leadership potential.
