The Assistant inventory officer is responsible for handling inventory management responsibilities that include effective and organised safekeeping of inventory, ensuring optimum levels of inventory is maintained at all times at quality standards and proper distribution and adequate tracking of inventory records.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assistant inventory officer is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing the goods, managing the stock levels and giving out the supplies from the stock.
- To oversee that the arrangement of goods has been done in an orderly system at the various warehouses so that the stocks can be stored easily and retrieved whenever there is a requirement.
- The candidate supervises and manages the procedures related to offloading, packing and unpacking.
- Ensures that the stocks stay physically protected in the warehouses.
- The candidate is also involved in preparing the inventories, maintaining the stock records, using computerized systems for entering the records and is accountable for checking the supply invoices with the purchase orders.
- The candidate is responsible for preparing weekly reports of all activities in the warehouses.
- The candidate flags surplus or obsolete stock from time to time.
- Maintains record of receipts as well as issuance of items that are going out of the warehouse so as to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Involved in reconciliation of physical stock with the stock in the system
- Undertake the function of stock taking and conduct periodic stock count and audit on a regular basis by working closely with the designated staff members
- Ensure the correct and timely valuation of the inventory and to be involved in directing and managing procedures related to offloading, packing and unpacking

Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification of HND , Business, Accounting, Logistics or related courses
- A minimum of 3 yrs of inventory management experience is an added advantage
- The candidate must possess good analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate collaborative work style, strong leadership skills and should have the ability to take proper decisions and act independently whenever necessary
- The candidate must have the ability to manage administrative work with good planning and numeric skills.
- The candidate should have a methodical approach to complete the assigned work and should pay strong attention to detail.
- Result-oriented and ability to work in a dynamic environment with increasing levels of responsibility
- Strong professionally – credible, flexible, honest and trustworthy
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Â
