As-Built (Process) Engineer
Job summary
An As-Built (Process) Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and validating as-built process engineering documents to reflect the final, installed condition of process systems after construction or modification. The role ensures accuracy of process data, compliance with design standards.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Prepare and update as-built process documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and line lists
- Verify field-installed systems against approved design drawings and redline markups
- Incorporate site changes, modifications, and deviations into final as-built documentation
- Review and validate process data such as flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and equipment capacities
- Coordinate with construction, commissioning, piping, instrumentation, and operations teams
- Ensure as-built documents comply with project specifications, codes, and client standards
- Support commissioning, startup, and handover to operations
- Maintain document control and ensure proper versioning and approval status
- Identify discrepancies and raise technical queries or change notices where required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
- 3–8 years’ experience in process engineering, preferably in oil & gas, power, petrochemical, or manufacturing projects
- Strong knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, H&MB, line sizing, and process simulations
- Experience with as-built documentation, redlining, and engineering change management
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO)
- Proficiency in engineering tools (AutoCAD, SmartPlant, AVEVA, Aspen HYSYS/Plus—advantage)
- Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
