Job summary
MVG Entertainment is seeking a highly capable Artist Operations & Development Manager to oversee and advance the creative, operational, and developmental progress of our artists. This role serves as the primary internal point of coordination and advocacy for assigned artists, ensuring consistency, accountability, and forward momentum across all aspects of their careers. You will work closely with label leadership, internal teams, and external collaborators to ensure artists continue moving forward daily, creatively, operationally, and strategically. This is a label-side leadership role focused on execution, development, and long-term career building within music and entertainment. This is a hybrid role that operates primarily remotely, with physical availability in Lagos for sessions, rehearsals, appearances, and key moments when required. The nature of the role requires dependable availability, responsiveness, and active engagement aligned with our artists’ schedule and priorities. The Artist Operations & Development Manager is responsible for owning and advancing the artist’s creative, professional, and performance development in a coordinated and intentional manner, while ensuring execution remains structured, consistent, and aligned with long-term goals.

Responsibilities:
Artist Operations & Daily Execution:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day operational point of contact for assigned artists
- Manage artist schedules, calendars, sessions, rehearsals, appearances, and commitments
- Ensure artists are prepared, punctual, and aligned for sessions, shoots, and engagements
- Coordinate logistics related to studio sessions, fittings, rehearsals, and local movement, working collaboratively with other support functions where appropriate
- Maintain structure, discipline, and accountability while fostering trust and professionalism
- Identify and surface risks, timing challenges, or execution gaps early to support continuity and progress
Artist Development & Growth:
- Own and drive all aspects of artist development, including creative growth, performance readiness, and professional development
- Coordinate vocal coaching, performance training, styling, and other developmental resources
- Support intentional music development in collaboration with producers, creatives, and A&R partners
- Track progress toward creative, performance, and project milestones
- Provide steady guidance and structure during high-pressure or low-momentum periods
- Support the artist in building confidence, consistency, and readiness for higher-level opportunities
Internal Coordination & Career Execution:
- Act as a central liaison between the artist and label teams, ensuring alignment across priorities and timelines
- Ensure timely delivery of music, visuals, content, and related assets
- Maintain clear, proactive communication regarding progress, priorities, and potential risks
- Support release and rollout preparation by keeping execution organised and timelines clear
Opportunity Scouting & Artist Advocacy:
- Identify and surface opportunities aligned with the artist’s growth and positioning, including shows, collaborations, producers, cultural moments, and brand interest
- Build and maintain relationships within music, fashion, and cultural ecosystems on behalf of the artist
- Receive, organise, and track inbound opportunities in a structured and professional manner
- Present opportunities with appropriate context and preparation to support informed decision-making
- Support preparation and execution of opportunities once direction is confirmed
Artist Brand & Reputation:
- Support the development and consistency of the artist’s brand, image, and public presence
- Contribute insight from market awareness, audience behaviour, and the competitive landscape
- Assist in planning and coordinating appearances, events, and key career moments
- Help ensure the artist’s reputation and long-term positioning are protected and strengthened
- Provide thoughtful guidance and support throughout different stages of the artist’s career
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in artist coordination, operations, creative execution, or similar roles within music, entertainment, or creative industries
- Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills
- Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, and execution-focused
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving creative environments
- Strong understanding of the music and cultural landscape, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- High integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Genuine interest in artist development and long-term career building
