Job Description/Requirements


We are seeking an experienced Aquaponics & Hydroponics Agronomist to design, implement, and manage soil-less farming systems within greenhouse and controlled-environment settings. The role focuses on optimizing plant and fish production through efficient system design, nutrient and water management, and data-driven agronomic practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, set up, and manage aquaponic, hydroponic, and aeroponic systems for commercial and pilot-scale operations.
Monitor and optimize water quality parameters (pH, EC, dissolved oxygen, temperature, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates).
Develop and manage nutrient programs tailored to crop and system requirements.
Select suitable crop varieties and fish species based on production goals and environmental conditions.
Oversee greenhouse production systems, including irrigation, climate control, and plant spacing layouts.
Identify and manage pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies using integrated and sustainable approaches.
Train farm staff and students on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
Maintain production records, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams during greenhouse construction and system installation.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Crop Science, or related field.
Proven hands-on experience with aquaponics and/or hydroponics systems.
Strong understanding of greenhouse production and controlled-environment agriculture.
Knowledge of water chemistry, nutrient solutions, and plant physiology.
Ability to troubleshoot system failures and optimize yields.
Strong communication and training skills.
Willingness to work on-site and travel for project installations when required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with commercial-scale greenhouse projects.
Familiarity with vertical farming systems.
Basic understanding of irrigation and climate control technologies.
Experience training interns, students, or farm staff.
