Analytical Chemist
Job summary
The Analytical Chemist is responsible for conducting physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses on environmental, industrial, and consumer product samples in accordance with approved laboratory methods, quality management procedures, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
- Receive, label, and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform routine and specialized chemical analyses using approved test methods.
- Conduct laboratory testing on water, wastewater, food, industrial products, and other environmental samples as assigned.
- Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and calibration standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
- Record, interpret, and report analytical results accurately and within specified turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory quality procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in method validation, verification, and quality control activities.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, worksheets, and test reports.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and communicate reagent and consumable requirements.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and wastes.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and accreditation activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Industrial Chemistry. Post-degree qualifications are highly preferred
- Candidates with degrees in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or closely related disciplines may also be considered; however, Industrial Chemistry is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of laboratory experience in an environmental, industrial, research, or quality control laboratory.
- Experience in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory is an added advantage.
